Foundation Initiatives

Pacific Health Consulting Group provides expert consultation to foundations that provide funding in the healthcare arena on the development of new initiatives that expand healthcare access to low-income individuals. These projects become large, multi-year, major policy and program initiatives.

Some of our most recent foundation initiatives projects include:

  • Medi-Cal Redesign Stakeholder Process
Facilitated the Medi-Cal Redesign Stakeholder Process sponsored by the California Health and Human Services Agency, in collaboration with The Califrona Healthcare Foundation and The California Endowment. The interactive process involved over 675 individual and organizational stakeholders throughout the state. The stakeholders reviewed the Medi-Cal redesign concepts, gave feedback and shared their own ideas for improvements to the Medi-Cal system. The 20 meetings were held from March 1 - April 28, 2004.
  • An SOS for COHS: Preserving County Organized Health Systems.
Funded by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, PHCG wrote a new paper describing the current financial conditions of the state's 5 County Organized Health System Plans that serve 8 counties. The paper was released on May 11, 2004 to legislators and other policymakers at the State Capitol.
